An investor from the United States filed a criminal complaint today for fraud against four Panamanians, who used the name of former President Mireya Moscoso as a reference. Sigmund Andre Eisenschenk said the individuals sold him a piece of property located in Pedasí, in the province of Los Santos, in 2007 for $1.8 million dollars, but the property was never delivered to him. The transaction was made with a corporation that does not exist, Maria Chiquita SA, and the stakeholders, who appear to all be members of the same family, do not own the land. The group said they were buying the property from former president Mireya Moscoso in order to sell it to Eisenschenk. The complaint was filed today in the Public Ministry and the primary person accused was identified as Edwin Iturbides Cano. The others named in the complaint are Luvinia Aurora Cano, Edwin Cano Molina and Elianne Gricellis Cano Molina. (TVN Noticias)
Editor’s Comment: Ah, OK, that’s clearer. The earlier article was a little confusing.
