Authorities from the Ministry of Health in the province of Chiriqui have confirmed there has been an outbreak of cases with diarrhea and vomiting in the city of David, according to reports from health centers and the emergency room of the José Domingo de Obaldia hospital. Dr. Pablo Acosta, MoH epidemiologist said the sickness is being caused by a bacteria, it is spreading rapidly, and some patients have been isolated. “We recommend hand washing because the bacteria is being transmitted from one person to another, and in the case of minors drinking water should be boiled as a precaution,” he said. He said in the emergency room of the José Domingo de Obaldía hospital two children were hospitalized and 17 others are under observation. Acosta said there has been a 10% increase in these kinds of cases in the area of David. (Panama America)

Editor’s Comment: If you get these symptoms you might be infected by a bacteria. If that’s the case then you will need antibiotics to get rid of it. Normally if it’s being caused by a virus you can just tough it out for a few days and it will go away by itself. Not this stuff. You will need to be seen by a doctor in order to get the prescription for antibiotics.
