Safety & SecurityThe Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), as part of the International Audit of Aviation, confirmed the position of Panama as being category 1 regarding operational safety.
The director of the Civil Aeronautical Authority (AAC), captain Rafael Bárcenas, and Mr. John Barbagallo, Division Manager of the Flight Standards Service International Programs and Policy Division (AFS-50) of the FAA had a meeting in which they confirmed Panama’s certification.

Bárcenas said the country is leader in security, customer service and airport operations for the benefit of the users who transit through the airports.

“The FAA thanked the commitment of the country in maintaining their excellence and urged the institution to continue providing great quality service,” said the director of the AAC.

He said the institution will receive the official announcement during the next few weeks from the government of the United States, in which they officially certify the assessment issued by the FAA. (Critica)
